Nice - but there's a trick to the 1/2 IPT threaded application Dec 02, 2010
By John W. This is a much nicer spout than the crappy brands you get at Menards. It's got some weight to it. Thugh beware if you are replacing an older spout like us you're going from all brass to some plastic parts.
We needed the 1/2" IPT and when this came I almost sent it back, it wasnt super clear how to use it with threaded pipe. The trick is to remove the hex screw, then grab the white nylon insert (the smaller sleeve that fits within the larger nylon sleeve, best way I can describe) and give it a twist and pull. You're working on the inside of the spot, so no real danger of damaging the finish but I suppose the possibility exists if you aren't at all careful.
Then when you find out your pipe out of the wall isn't 2" they require for this, and in many older homes it's not - just go to a store that sells inground sprinkler parts and buy a 30c F -> M 1/2 extension, the black or green plastic kind you cut to length with a hacksaw. WORKED PERFECT! Just wrap it up real nice with teflon tape and you can get exactly the length you need.

Danze Tub Spout Diverter Oct 20, 2011
By S. Shumaker This product would have been a perfect match for the other peices had it not been designed differently than the past parts of 10 or more years ago. They used a new connection that fits a 1/2 inch copper pipe. Great, but most connections over 15 years ago used a threaded galvanized pipe so the part was esentially worthless.

Danze Tub Spout Sep 24, 2012
By Ron Easy to install. Flow from spout has a bit too much spray. Diverter works very well, no leakage. Not a great Oil Rubbed Bronze color as it has too much of a copper tint. While not a perfect match its close enough given the price.

Doesn't Leak a Drop Sep 05, 2011
By Talltexan

This is an excellent quality tub spout. It installs easily and does not leak one single drop of water after the shower diverter valve is engaged. The brushed nickel finish looks great. The only concern I had with this tub spout is that the instructions that come in the package are not very clear about the fact that you can remove the plastic connector that is per-installed. I almost returned it because it appeared to use only a slip fit connection. After unscrewing the plastic connector, it screws on just like the original that was removed. The entire replacement took only a couple minutes after removing the plastic adapter that was not needed.

Great Replacement Jul 30, 2011
By Brent H. Yokley The original spout started shrieking during showers - pretty funny to scare the heck out of the kids, but that wore off. This replacement spout was perfect - easy to install especially with a non-threaded pipe. Simply push it on and tighten the set screw with the included hex key. The instructions for threaded pipe seem slightly more difficult. It's a great quality piece with some weight to it. Highly recommended.
